Portal deployment tries to meet the needs of customers for an user-friendly interface for managing simpler agendas such as a helpdesk or can function as a signpost or dashboard for any more complex information systems.

Strategic dashboards are used mainly by top management to monitor the implementation of the company’s long-term strategy. Within MyDesk, for example, key company goals can be recorded by individual areas.

Within tactical dashboards, middle management can monitor the progress of aggregated variables, such as the development of company sales by individual months and organizational units. Based on the dashboards, the main processes of the company can be analyzed in detail.

Operative dashboards, such as the request system (helpdesk), are used to monitor the current status of monitored variables and for quick user actions. The underlying data for these dashboards are obtained in „real time“
